Welcome to the Healing Sanctuary. Although we have each journeyed many different paths to reach this sacred ground, we have all responded in our own way to the One Voice that beckons all.
For centuries the sanctuary was understood to be a safe place. A place where victims, refugees, and outcasts could claim respite from a threatening world. It was the one place where violence could not enter, and the tentacle arms of evil could not reach even the most vulnerable soul. The archetype of "sanctuary" sums up images of safety, protection, relief, respite....peace. The Healing Sanctuary, at the Center for Health Integration, adds one more element. It is a healing place. A place where not only do you find relief from the stresses of the day and the burden of unspoken fears or physical ailments; but you will also find a community of hope and the seeds of transformation.
When you enter for the first time, you will think you are amidst ordinary people in an ordinary building. You will be invited to sit, take your shoes off and breathe out the tension of the day. You will be instructed in the process of the service, where to sit, how to receive, who will be guiding you, when to leave. You will hear soft relaxing music. You will be invited to lie comfortably on a massage table, and suddenly feel the atmosphere change. You will know that you have entered sacred ground.
There is a community of healers led by inner guidance and the desire to serve, who have created a sacred space to facilitate the healing of the mind, body and spirit of the Midlands community. They do this simply by honoring the perfection, wholeness, and individual journey of every person, no matter what their circumstance, history, or biology.
These spirit-led workers offer their service to provide a place for others to experience energy healing, inner peace and stress relief.
There will be those who hold the sacred space through prayer and meditation, and those practitioners who use their specialties (Reiki, Healing Touch, Life Force Healing, etc) with table work for 30- 60 minutes per participant. Afterwards, you may be escorted to a place to sit and receive a cup of cool water. They may gently place their hands on your head, shoulders and feet to help you feel grounded before you leave.
No one can say what your personal experience will be. Some feel a soothing warmth from the healers’ hands, some feel tingling or a gentle vibration, some are aware of a sense of expansion in their heart. Some have experienced an inner sense of joy, or peace.
Should you choose to remain til the end, you will be invited to join a closing circle. There will be an expression of gratitude and remembrance.
You will remember that the healing sanctuary has always been, and will always be a sacred place within you. When you answer the call to join us on the outer, you will recognize that the gifts are always available on the inner.
